Christopher Mosey, glass artist and owner of Ignis Glass Studio is known for his original blown glass sculpture. Initially, Chris studied ceramics at the Appalachian Center for Crafts, an arts program through Tennessee Tech University, with the intention of becoming a potter. After taking an elective class in glass blowing, he discovered his passion for creating art lies more specifically in glass blowing. In 2001, Chris founded Ignis Glass Studio, fittingly named after the Latin word “fire”, where he has been creating unique glass pieces for over 20 years in the Chattanooga area. The works Chris Mosey creates draw inspiration from earth tones found in nature and reflect his interest in geology with a strong Art Nouveau influence.
