David Jower

David is from Northern California. His specialty is saggar fired pottery, which involves creating a firing chamber for each piece. The results are similar to the chaotic randomness of raku, but not as violent. Each piece could be streaked with smudges, flashes of color and a smoky texture, all on a satiny surface. This is a selection of his rattles. And they look like squashes, fruits and gourds. Neat.
