These ornaments are multi-step - first the cane needs to be created by building a near molten block of intensely colored glass, then pulling and twisting until it is long and of the right diameter. Then the pieces of cane need to be cut to length and attached to the blown bubbles of clear glass. This creates a lot of dimension and the classic pattern of an old fashioned Christmas ornament.
